Stannards is a fast-growing AFR Top 50 boutique, chartered accounting practice located in modern offices in South Yarra. Conveniently located outside the Melbourne CBD, we provide easy access for both our clients and staff.

We have an opportunity for a Senior to Accountant to join our friendly team on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role: 

As our new Senior Accountant, you’ll prepare financial statements and income tax returns for our client base of operating businesses and high net worth family groups/individuals.

In this role you will be: 

  • Providing sound tax compliance, planning and advice to our clients 
  • Mentoring and supervising graduates 
  • Manage workflow, budgets and deadlines across the year 
  • Assisting in the delivery of consulting engagements 
  • Maintaining an awareness of and engaging with changing technologies to deliver the most current and proactive advice to our clients 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following: 

  • Valid rights to work in Australia (required) 
  • 2 plus years of Australian Tax Agent/Business Services experience – (required) 
  • Will have commenced/completed CA or CPA qualification (preferred) 
  • Experience with all types of entities, including companies, trusts, and self-managed superannuation funds 
  • Experience with Big 4 or 2nd Tier Chartered Accounting firms (preferred) 
  • Strong IT skills, including Xero Certification and advanced Excel skills (desired) 
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills
